Critical Reading and Writing

Service learning is optional in this course. 

All students will be required to complete a fieldworking project for the class.  The fieldworking project will require students to immerse themselves in a subculture or social group and write about this experience. 

As an immersion experience, students may choose to complete a service learning placement at any service learning agency EXCEPT Loyola University Recycling. 

If students choose a service learning placement for the fieldworking project, the time commitment will be 15-20 hours per semester.
