Keep Track of Your Time

Once you have completed the timesheet, scan and email, or photograph and email the completed timesheet to ocelts@loyno.edu. Be sure that both you and your supervisor have signed the timesheet. This must be done at midterm, March 4, and by the final day of class, April 29, in order for you to receive full credit for your service learning. If you have any problems or questions, please, reach out right away to ttjasper@loyno.edu.

Learning objective: Students will learn how inequality plays out in very real ways in real life. They will also learn about ways it is being addressed in our community (and understand both the successes and limitations of the effort).

HOW TO GET STARTED

  1. Watch the video "Getting Started with Your Service Learning Placement." Take this quiz to make sure you know everything you need to know about the placement process.  Please, note the following regarding a change to the information in the placement video:

    • Due to changes in purchasing policies, there will no longer be food at the Serve Fair

  2. Use the How to Excel in Service Learning and Plan of Service worksheets to determine your availability for service.
  3. Get your placement on time.  Submit your acceptance form before the deadline.
  4. Document all your hours using a service learning timesheet. Submit timesheets to the service learning office twice per semester (midterm and last day of the semester). Check the Loyola Service Learning Calendar  for deadlines.
  5. Know that your agency supervisor will submit a performance evaluation on your work at the end of the semester. This evaluation will go to your professor and be incorporated into your class grade.
